CHIPS SUCTION MONITORING SYSTEM


1. CONFIGURATION :

Our chips suction monitoring system gives the possibility to check the air flow in real time in the main suction pipe.

Also, all the data is stored in the data-base and provides a model of the saw optimal behaviour. Any deviation from regular behaviour is detected and analysed. If any change is spotted in the characteristic of the machine, due to component wear or to dust fouling for example, different levels of alarm can be set to order the appropriate action from operators. Preventive maintenance can be planed accurately to prevent critical chips jams . Our monitoring system is directly linked to the saw’s PLC and enable immediate action on the saw : If chips jams occurs anyway, it will be detected in real time, and can lead to immediate saw stop. The product can be adapted on existing equipment.

2. PRESSURE SENSOR :

Pressure sensor are set on the suction circuit at several locations determined by our team. The system will use both absolute pressure values and calculate pressure variation on the different pipe. The current parameters of the saw operation are displayed in real time on the HMI screen. The control screens are tailor made by our data scientists and automation team in accordance with the customer needs.

3. MEASUREMENTS JUST BEFORE A CHIPS JAM

On this screenshot of an existing installation, we can see a sequence of measurements recorded just before a chips jam. The short peaks are standing for the regular aspiration of chips when sawing a billet. The diagram are showing that the pressure variation is becoming longer and longer, warning us from an issue on the suction system.

3.1 Alarms Real Time Tracking

On the screenshots of an existing installation, we can see a Real Time machine operation with different modules as well as the machine alarms and events . We can integrate several surveillance and predictions of the machine parts and module and then notify the predicted state of the process operation.

4. DATA ANALISYS :

Our algorithm ( AI ) will identify the functioning clusters of the chips suction system and will be able to predict chips suction clogging issues.
